About the Program
In March 2013, PSNI joined forces with amazing teaching artist Clarabelle Vanniekerk, with the idea that people with disabilities have something special to offer the art community. Two years later this idea has turned into a fantastic adventure that has provided more than 25 up-and-coming artists with disabilities the opportunity to create over 100 paintings, two beautiful calendars and some very special memories.
The beautiful art created during these classes have been showcased locally at Evans Brothers coffee house and Panhandle State Bank, bringing the community and people with disabilities together in ways that none of us could have expected.
Support PSNI
Three art classes and 200 paintings later we have learned that although the experience is priceless, the resources needed to make it happen are not.
When funding is available, the Art Program lasts six weeks and includes:
- three classes per week for up to 10 students
- one art instructor
- four support staff
- and all of the canvases and art supplies needed for each student to complete at least four paintings
Your financial contribution can help us offer this program to more of our clients.
