About PSNI
Our History
Panhandle Special Needs opened its doors in 1975 with only a handful of clients and a few determined parents trying to create a safe and productive environment for their adult disabled family members. Almost 50 years later, our agency now features specialized employment training, individualized life skills training, an adult day health center, a retail greenhouse, a retail thrift store, and a cardboard recycling service.
Currently serving approximately 200 clients per year, our array of services can be accessed individually or combined to create a personalized support plan that meets the needs of the individual based on where that person lives, works, and plays.
We’ve grown…and we’re growing!
Panhandle Special Needs Inc. (PSNI) is the only adult developmental disability agency [DDA] in Bonner and Boundary counties, empowering individuals to achieve their highest level of independence.
We’ve grown from serving 25 clients to nearly 200 annually, but our current facility can no longer keep up with the demand. That’s why we’re building a new, state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of our growing community. Partnering with North Root Architecture, our new space will prioritize accessibility, energy efficiency, and a welcoming environment for all. Explore how this new home will enable us to continue making a difference in the lives of individuals and families across our region.
Your donation to Panhandle Specials Needs Inc. keeps funds in our community.
